Titan Institute of Basketball
Tony Campbell grew up in the Cedar Rapids area. He attended R egis High School and was a 3 time all conference performer in basketball. His senior year Tony captured 1st team All-State honors, McDonald’s All-American, and was a finalist for Mr. Basketball. He was highly recruited and he chose to continue his career at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Tony was a standout on the Men’s Basketball Team and still holds several records: 6th all-time leading scorer, 2nd all-time in steals, 7th all time in free-throw shooting percentage, and the record holder for most field goals made in a game (17).
Tony has over15 years of experience successfully coaching and training athletes of all ages. He currently coaches men's basketball at Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and teaches Physical Education at Wilson Middle School. |

About The Titan Institute of Basketball
Titan Institute of Basketball is an all inclusive one stop place to encounter all aspects of basketball. Our continuum of influence consists of five to six year old "bitty ball" leagues with skills and drills clinics all the way to adult leagues and tournaments.
The Titan Institute of Basketball (TIB) is a program who's goal is to develop our youth athletically and train them up to become positive life-long citizens. The program was started in Las Vegas, NV in cooperation with the Tarkanian family at the Tarkanian Basketball Academy. The program has been successful in reaching tens of thousands of youth in Las Vegas, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, and California. It encompasses social skills clinics, academic tutoring, and basketball skills and drills. The Titan Institute of Basketball’s vision is to create a one-stop place for supporting and building up student athletes.

The Titan Institute of Basketball is a unique program that is built on Wooden‘s principle-character first. We offer the best basketball coaches and instruction along with dedicated mentors and tutors to provide a system that we like to say develops the “whole child, ” building them from the inside out; Instilling character, academic success, and basketball enhancement.
Our adult leagues and tournaments follow this philosophy. Our leagues boast some of the most talented players around but we hold our athletes to a high standard of conduct during gameplay. Good sportsmanship is imperative. Foul play, swearing, and physical aggression is prohibited. Everyone is a role model. At our events, the Titan Institute of basketball's goal is to create an atmosphere of peace without compromising good, solid basketball!

Tony is no stranger to working successfully with youth. After college Tony began his teaching and coaching career in the Cedar Rapids area. He was the physical education teacher for six years at Johnson Elementary School where he implemented several innovative programs for the youth. These programs include a dance group that traveled around the city and performed for physical education conventions. He also facilitated an after school workout program that targeted fitness, dance, and self-defense. Tony was a varsity assistant coach for the boys basketball team and the varsity girls sprint coach at Washington High School. Tony led two freshmen teams to the "ambiguous" city championships and helped coach 4 varsity girls relay teams to state titles.
In 2004, after six years of teaching and coaching in the Cedar Rapids area Tony decided to make his home in Las Vegas, NV where Tony taught middle school while coaching the two time defending middle school conference champions West-Edison Huskies, he started his own tutoring and social skills company, The Learning Center, which is housed at the Tarkanian Basketball Academy (TBA) owned and operated by legendary UNLV Coach Jerry Tarkanian and his sons. Tony took a position as one of the directors for the Tarkanian Basketball Academy In 2005. The newly built 32,000 square foot, 4 full basketball court facility houses many exciting programs and Tony helped oversee all of them. Programs such as the NBA sum mer league featuring players such as Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, The Adidas Super 64 and Phenom High School Tournaments, recreational and competitive youth leagues, as well as high profile youth tournaments.
In his role as director he was instrumental in launching two highly successful programs for the Tarkanians. Tony founded and currently runs one of the largest and most competitive men’s basketball league in Las Vegas. He is also was the director of the very successful TBA Summer Sports Day Camp for elementary age children. It is an all day tutoring program and basketball camp geared to help develop well rounded children in the classroom, on the court, and in the community
In all of his experiences and dealings with youth in other cities, Tony has always had a heart for the youth in his hometown of Cedar Rapids. The positive impact that his programs have had on the young people in Las Vegas and the community as a whole has stirred his passion to return to Iowa and see these programs flourish here. The Titan Institute of Basketball is unique in its attempt to make a concerted effort to build up every part of the child while still focusing on improving basketball skills. We know the Titan Institute of Basketball will be a positive program for the community.
The Titan name was adopted by Tony and given to the institute after reading its perspective changing definition:
Titan - a person of exceptional importance and reputation; one of prodigious size, strength, achievement, power, and influence.
Tony's vision is to instill in our youth this type of mentality in all aspects of their lives!
